Real Book - Steve Swallow (1994)

A collection of original tunes (including a few contrafacts), sometimes with funny titles and melodies. The cd included a booklet with the lead sheets of each tunes (nice...). Swallow on bass, with a great band: Tom Harrell, Joe Lovano, Mulgrew Miller & Jack DeJohnette. I always loved Steve Swallow's writing and playing, and his quirky sense of humor.

Another album that I play to all my students.

My favorite tracks on the album: Second Handy Motion, Willow & Lets Eat.

Une collection de morceaux originaux (incluant quelques contrafacts), parfois avec des titres et des mélodies amusants. Le CD incluait un livret avec les partitions (lead sheets) de chaque morceau (sympa…). Swallow à la basse, entouré d'un groupe formidable : Tom Harrell, Joe Lovano, Mulgrew Miller et Jack DeJohnette. J’ai toujours adoré l’écriture et le jeu de Steve Swallow, ainsi que son sens de l’humour. Je fais écouter cet album à tous mes étudiants.
