Great line up of musicians: Randy & Mike Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Mike Manieri, Don Grolnick, Kenny Kirkland, Eddie Gomez, Don Alias... Wow! I really listenend a lot to this one. Lots of great playing. My favorite tracks on the album: Leroy Street, E.S.P. & Coyote Blues . Garden of Eden - Paul Motian (2006)
Wonderful album, by maestro Paul Motian, both in the sound and in the overall vibe. 3 guitars ( Jacob Bro, Steve Cardenas, Ben Monder ), 2 saxes, plus bass and drums. Classic ECM sound (beautiful...). A repertoire of jazz classics and lovely original tunes. My favorite tracks on the album: Pithecanthropus Erectus, Mesmer & Mumbo Jumbo . Spears - Tribal Tech (1985)
The best Tribal Tech album IMO... Great playing, writing, and arranging by Scott Henderson, and great playing by the whole band also. Electric fusion, but with acoustic piano and percussions, which make the album sound a bit timeless. Some arrangements have a nice Weather Report vibe to them. This is just before Scott went to work for Chick. A good example of an 80's fusion album that aged very well. My favorite tracks on the album: Punkin Head & Big Fun . Le meilleur albu

Free Fall - Richard Sussman (1978)
A hidden gem. A great album, but not that well known, featuring stellar playing by Tom Harrell, Larry Schneider and Gerry Bergonzi. Great compositions and arrangements by pianist Richard Sussman. Great palying also by Mike Richmond (double bass) and Jeff Williams (drums). I play this album to my students when talking about the developpement and evolution of ' modern ' jazz.
